Architectural hybrids for living across the lifespan: lessons from dementia

ABSTRACT

The built environment is essential for well-being at old age. The theory of salutogenesis, focusing on health, rather than the disease itself, provides evidence that space contributes to health and well-being. This has influenced healthcare architecture through facilities designed to support well-being. So, increasingly healthcare facilities aim to look like hotels to improve user experience. This retains conceptual and usage gaps between hospitality and healthcare but supports cross-fertilization of best practice. This paper explores possibilities of synergies between healthcare facilities and hospitality industry. Appropriate services and well-being across the lifespan is the ultimate objective, and the physical environment is critical in that provision. Examining the architectural typology of the dementia village as case study, it explores healthcare–hospitality hybrids. Learning from both domains can contribute to silver economy while providing the aging population with enhanced environment. Aging population and stakeholders in this ecosystem can benefit from these synergies.     

The pre‐eminence of gold and silver as Shariah money

Shariah money is gold and silver, supplied by the market on profit criterion. Everywhere, government inconvertible paper money arose from bankruptcy. A government with balanced budgets would never need it. Imposed by force, inconvertible paper is a taxation mean, highly inflationary, and causes impoverishment. Unjust and bankrupt governments will continue to force this despotic money. Islamic Monetary Economics refutes the idea of money as a policy tool. Fully convertible paper is Shariah compliant. Shariah requires a just government to balance its budgets and restore fully gold and silver as lawful money.     

LSPR detection of extracellular vesicles using a silver-PDMS nano-composite platform suitable for sensor networks

ABSTRACT

A novel method for the detection of exosomes in body fluids and cell cultures has been developed. The method is an optical method, based on LSPR of silver nanoparticles. The method was extended to a microfluidic environment, amenable to be integrated in a sensor network. However, for clinical applications, their isolation, detection and quantification methods in bio-fluids are challenging. Herein, we present a simple label-free technique to capture and detect EVs, by using a synthetic peptide, called Vn96. To quantify EVs, a LSPR detection technique was used. This work is an attempt to adapt a biosensing method to the future requirements of Industry 4.0.     

丁香苦苷 PLGA 纳米粒的体外释放研究

为研究丁香苦苷PLGA纳米粒（ SYR-NP）的体外释药规律,采用动态透析技术考察SYR-NP体外释药性能,并用高效液相测定SYR-NP和SYR溶液的含量,以累积释药百分率进行不同模型的拟合．SYR-NP的体外释放规律基本符合Higuchi方程的释药模型,拟合的释药动力学方程为 Q＝0．1281＋0．0189t1/2（r＝0．9568）．相比于药物溶液,SYR-NP具有良好的缓释的作用．     

“负担”变“机遇”——欧盟通过“创新伙伴关系”积极应对老龄化

人口老龄化是全球趋势,也是欧洲面临的最严峻挑战之一,将对欧盟国家政治、经济、社会和卫生体系等领域带来综合性挑战。为此,欧盟提出将"创新"作为重要综合抓手,努力将老龄化带来的潜在"社会负担"转化为"银色机遇",即将老龄化产业转化为新的经济增长点。2011年,欧委会在"创新联盟"框架下启动"欧洲积极和健康的老龄化创新伙伴关系计划",旨在通过"思维创新"重新审视和优化医疗及护理活动的政治、社会、组织和筹资,提供体系的流程和安排,并通过"科技创新"充分调动和挖掘老龄化相关市场需求和产业发展动力。欧洲的成功经验和做法,对我国应对老龄化挑战有积极的借鉴意义。     

黄金白银投资比较及其价格影响因素分析

通过分析目前黄金与白银各自发展的空间优势,本文研究了影响黄金白银价格的几大重要因素,以及黄金价格与白银价格的线性关系,提出影响它们价格的主要因素包括石油价格、美国名义有效汇率、美国长期利率和美国消费者价格指数、美元指数,以及世界黄金储备会对黄金和白银价格的影响,并得出其各自较好的持有途径,旨在为投资决策者提供参考。     

某银矿原生矿选矿工艺研究

根据矿石性质，对广西某银矿原生矿开展工地选矿工艺研究，主要目的是验证实验室小试条件、流程及指标，提供合理的工业生产选矿工艺流程。这对有相似矿石性质的银矿工艺选择具有重要的借鉴和指导意义。     

新银盐光度法测定酸性废水中砷的含量

随着金属矿的大量开发以及工业废水的排放,造成砷对环境的污染越来越严重,因此微量砷的检验成为环境监测的一个重要指标。微量砷的测定有许多方法,本文采用的是二乙氨基二硫代甲酸银光度法,本方法对砷的测定选择性好,灵敏度高(ε达到2.6×104),回收率达到97.1%,操作简单,适用于测定地下水,工业酸性废水中的微量砷。     

现代科技在纺织品上的应用——银纤维

本文介绍银纤维的种类及制备,论述银纤维的特性:除臭、抗菌、调节体温、抗静电、防电磁波辐射等功能特征,最后对国内外银纤维的研究进展及银纤维纺织品的开发应用进行总结和展望。     

生产药用醋酸钾除氯新工艺研究

研究了用硝酸铋代替硝酸银除去溶液中氯离子的新工艺。结果表明,用０．８ｋｇ硝酸铋相当于用０．５ｋｇ硝酸银的除氯效果。
